Pianist Yeol Eum Son makes her Swiss Concerto debut with Orchestre de la Suisse Romande under the baton of Susanna Mälkki on 20th and 21st March. She will perform Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 23 in A Major at Geneva’s Victoria Hall (20 March) and Théâtre de Beaulieu Lausanne (21 March). On 7 April, soloist and orchestra, under its Music and Artistic Director Jonathan Nott, will perform Schumann’s Piano Concerto at the Lotte Concert Hall in Seoul.

Yeol Eum’s interpretations of Mozart’s piano concerto have earned acclaim, with Gramophone calling her performances “uncommonly fine” and The Times noting that she is “winning” pianist and “a model of clarity and fleetness”. Her video of Mozart’s Piano Concerto no. 21 in C Major has been viewed more than 13 million times on YouTube. In April, she will perform the concerto for both her Aurora Orchestra debut with conductor Nicholas Collon (5 April) and at the Festival del Centro Histórico de la Ciudad de México (11 April). On 27 April, she will perform Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 13 in C Major and Piano Concerto No. 21 at the Moscow International Performing Art Centre under the baton of Maestro Vladimir Spivakov.

During the 2017/18 season, Yeol Eum made distinguished UK debuts in Birmingham with the CBSO and Omer Meir Wellber (Mozart Piano Concerto No 21) and at London’s Cadogan Hall with the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields (Mozart Piano Concerto No 8 & 21). Her London debut coincided with the release of her Onyx recording debut featuring Mozart’s Piano Concerto No.21 with the Academy of St Martin in the Fields under Sir Neville Marriner, for whom it was the very last recording.
